General
information
Arts Therapy is the use of the Artistic
potential of each individual for therapeutic and humanitarian goals. The Art
Therapist aims to apply his/her artistic skills, accompanying people suffering
from illness, physical and mental problems as well as developmental disorders.
Aims
Professional : the completion of a specialised Art
therapy course in accordance with the current French Code of Working Practise (Livre XI Code du travail)
Educational : Teaching is directed towards
research into the existing relationship between Art and Medecine,
as well as an examination of the specific application of Art Therapy within a
multi-disciplinary Healthcare team (for example the singular nature of
evaluation methods in Art Therapy).
Target
Groups
-Arts professionals with projects in the Social
or therapeutic fields
-Health, Social or Educational workers possessing artistic skills
which they wish to apply in their professional activity.
Conditions
of entry
Candidates must comply with ONE of the
following conditions:
- In possession of a Certificat de formation théorique d’Intervenant
Spécialisé en Art-Thérapie
(Specialised Practitioner of Art Therapy pre-University Certificate) from
the Tours School of Arts Therapy (AFRATAPEM ; tel : +33 (0)2 47 51 86 20)
- In possession of a Certificat
d’Aide culturelle à la personne (CAPERIA
TEL : +33 (0)2 47 51 40 20)
- In possession of a French Licence or equivalent Batchelor’s degree*
- currently enrolled
in a Medical school (equivalent French level D1)*
- currently enrolled
in a School of Pharmacy (2nd Year)*
- be a qualified Doctor or Pharmacist.*
In each case candidates must be able to provide
proof of the following : an artistic skill and
professional Arts Therapy training or training in another appropriate area of
Health care. Each application is subject to approval by a commission.

Organisation
Place : Faculté de Médecine
et de Pharmacie de Poitiers (Medical School)
Dates : from October 2006 to July 2007
(dates to be confirmed). Candidates unable to present their dissertation before
December 31 and who require a dispensation must re-enrol in the University and
pay all appropriate fees.

Evaluation
Internship report (25% total mark) : the report is approved by the internship
coordinator and the educational commission.
Dissertation (50% total mark) :
the dissertation must be approved by
the educational commission and written
to University and Scientific dissertation standards.

Oral presentation (25% total mark) : the oral presentation is held in front of panel
made up of University teaching staff and professionals.
